Northern Regional Hospital in Mount Airy, North Carolina, has been recognized as one of Becker’s 100 Top Rural and Community Hospitals. It is the only hospital in North Carolina to receive this recognition, which underscores its commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to residents of Surry County and surrounding areas.

The selection criteria for this distinction included performance metrics such as inpatient and outpatient market share, quality outcomes, and patient satisfaction. Becker’s Hospital Review is known for analyzing hospital performance, highlighting excellence in clinical outcomes, patient safety, and operational efficiency.

Northern Regional Hospital (NRH) is a 133-bed facility serving the northwest Piedmont region of North Carolina and neighboring counties in southwestern Virginia. Established in 1957, NRH operates independently as a national award-winning healthcare provider. The hospital's physician network includes primary and specialty care providers offering various services tailored to community needs.

NRH provides numerous outpatient services such as laboratory testing, X-ray services, CT scans, MRI scans, ultrasounds, 3D mammography, and physical rehabilitation.
