Surry Community College issued the following announcement on October 20.
The Student Government Association at Surry Community College is hosting an annual Halloween “Spooktacular” event on Oct. 26, from 5 to 7 p.m.
The event will be held on the Dobson Campus in the Knights Grill Courtyard. COVID-19 protocols will be followed. There is a rain date of Oct. 28.
Student organizations at the college are coming together to plan and sponsor different family-friendly activities at the Spooktacular. There will be music, games, a haunted hayride and a costume contest. The first 100 children to attend will receive a free Halloween face mask.
Tickets to play the different games will be on sale with 15 tickets available for $5. Food will also be available to purchase. All proceeds from this event will go to the SCC Angel Tree project. Each student organization at the college will be able to go Christmas shopping for families in need this December.
