Mask1

Yadkin County issued the following announcement on July 23.

Yadkin County Face Mask Program

Yadkin County Cloth Face Mask Program

Yadkin County has obtained cloth face mask from the United States Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response. We are offering these to Yadkin County citizens who are in need of a face covering. Wearing face coverings is important as anyone could be a carrier of COVID-19 and not know it. Wearing a face covering will help reduce the likelihood of an individual spreading the virus to others. These face coverings do not replace the N95 mask used in healthcare settings and should not be used when caring for those with COVID-19.

If you are in need of a face covering and would like to get one we are asking you to fill out the form located on our website (go to Yadkincountync.gov then click on “CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19) and choose “Cloth Face Mask Program” and fill out the form. Please provide an email address (or a phone number if you do not have an email addresses). If you are unable to complete this form online you may contact our local COVID-19 hotline at 336-849-7999.

It is important to provide an email address as we will be providing information on how to obtain your face covering within the next week (our distribution method will be based off of the amount of responses we receive). If you do not have an email address you may provide your phone number (please know there may be a delay responding back to you if an email address is not provided).

Wearing a face covering is only one way to combat the virus. Practicing social distancing, handwashing, and other recommendations from local, State, and Federal public health agencies should also be followed.

Information about the face coverings (from the US Department of Health and Human Services):

These are fabric face coverings that are 100% cotton. These face coverings do contain silver and copper which help kill or stop the growth of viruses and germs (https://www.phe.gov/facecovering/Pages/faq.aspx)

If skin irritation occurs, immediately stop using the face covering. If irritation persist, consult your primary care provider.
