There was one gas station in cities across Surry County selling diesel gas at the lowest price of $3.44 per gallon in the week ending Jan. 31, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
Countywide, diesel gas averaged $3.54 per gallon.
GasBuddy reports show that diesel gas was available at 11 of the 55 reported gas stations in Surry County.
Statewide, diesel gas averaged $3.45 per gallon for the week ending Jan. 31, up from the previous week.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
