Which political committee based in cities associated with Surry County spent the most during Q4 2022?

Sarah Stevens for House spent the most out of political committees within cities associated with Surry County during the fourth quarter of 2022.

It spent $60,708 on nine vendors during the time period.

The largest expense was for Unspecified Expenses to NC House Caucus Fund, which is based in the Raleigh area.

The second largest political spend from a committee operating in a city within Surry County during the fourth quarter of 2022 came from Surry Republican Party. It spent $28,347 during the time period on 19 different vendors.

What’s known as “dark money”, which comes from political non-profits and shell corporations, has greatly increased expenditures and donations in recent elections to record-breaking highs.
