Revenue Collections Assistant I
City of Mount Airy
The City of Mount Airy Finance Department is accepting applications for a Revenue Collections Assistant to perform billing for the collection of funds for utility bills, taxes, licenses, fees and other revenues. Work involves heavy public contact and coordination with other departments within the City’s organization. Duties include: billing customers for utility and other services, maintenance of customer account information, collection of payments, assisting customers with service requests, loading and unloading of meter reading devices, balancing cash drawer and performing general clerical duties.
Qualifications Include:
High school diploma and some experience in a billing and/or collection operation required.
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with interruption
2 year degree in Accounting or business related field preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft applications preferred
Bilingual is a plus
Person hired will be subject to employment physical and drug screen exam, background and driving history check. Position is full time with complete benefit package. Resumes’ are accepted, but will not be taken in lieu of a City application. Applications may be picked up at City Hall.
