Senior Games and Silver Arts Registration Open Now Through March 31

Surry County issued the following announcement on March 9.

(Dobson, N.C.) – The Yadkin Valley Senior Games and Silver Arts registration is open now through March 31. Events will take place in May and June 2022. The Senior Games and Silver Arts are coordinated and overseen by Surry County Parks & Recreation.

Events provide an opportunity for ages 50 and up to enjoy “Fitness, Friends, Fellowship and Fun” and will be held in various locations throughout Surry and Yadkin counties. The Senior Games and Silver Arts receive great participation each year and interested individuals and families are encouraged to register.  

Senior Games sports activities include: Horseshoes, bocce, pickleball, corn hole, croquet, shuffleboard, tennis, table tennis, golf, disc golf, mini-golf, track and field, 5K run/cycle and more!

Silver Arts categories include: Performing arts, painting, photography, wood working, quilting, crochet and more!

Local North Carolina residents ages 50 and up can find out more and register in the following ways:

Visit Surry County Parks and Recreation’s webpage at www.co.surry.nc.us for event details and printable registration form. When visiting, scroll over “Departments” at the top of the page, click on “Parks and Recreation,” scroll over “Yadkin Valley Senior Games” and click on “YVSG Registration Form.”

Visit your local community center or senior center to pick up a registration form.
