Canned Food Drive

Meadowview Magnet Middle recently issued the following announcement,

We will collect canned goods and supply them to our students here at Meadowview who can benefit firsthand from the generosity of our students, staff, and community. The items collected will go towards providing food for our backpack program. Below is a list of items requested for collection for our canned food drive

6th Grade

Cans of vegetables (green beans, peas, potatoes, mixed vegetables, corn, etc…)

Boxes of macaroni and cheese

Snack crackers

Cups/cans of fruit

Small boxes of cereal

Muffin mix

Jelly (no glass containers)

7th Grade (1st Period--Encore)

Cans of soup (vegetable, tomato, chicken noodle, potato, etc…)

Bags of rice or noodles

Saltine crackers

Variety pack boxes of oatmeal

Pop tarts

Peanut butter (plastic containers)

Boxes of dry spaghetti noodles

The items collected will go towards providing food for our backpack program. Below is a list of items requested for collection for our canned food drive.

8th Grade

Cans of spaghettios and/or beans (pinto or beanie weenies)

Granola bars

Cornbread mix (small boxes or bags)

Pancake mix/ Syrup

Ramen noodles  (3 pks will = 1 canned good)

Cans of meat (tuna, chicken, vienna sausages, etc…)

Spaghetti sauce (no glass containers)

Spaghetti O’s

All items should be given to your homeroom teacher.

Any student who brings in 50 cans or more will receive one class period of free time with the use of electronics (listen to music, play on phone, computer, iPad) or have time to just relax, decompress or just read a book. In addition, each student will receive a drink and a snack.

Any student who brings in 25 to 49 cans will receive the one class period of free time with the use of electronics.

If you have two students who attend Meadowview, siblings may split the cans and enjoy the reward!

**No glass items and no perishable items**

Ramen Noodles: 3 packs will count as 1 canned good
