Cash

Town of North Wilkesboro issued the following announcement on October 5.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Duke Energy Foundation today distributed $750,000 in grants to help local businesses across North Carolina – from restaurants to retailers – adapt to the unprecedented challenges caused by the pandemic. The Hometown Revitalization grants were awarded to  30 community organizations, one of which was the Downtown North Wilkesboro Partnership.

The Partnership was awarded $25,000 and will establish a small-business support microgrant program to deploy funding within our community. Microgrants will range from $500 to $2,500 per individual business and will open in late October through early December.

“Following months of complete and partial shutdowns, event and festival cancellations, a decreasing workforce and increasing cost of supplies, the Duke Energy Hometown Revitalization Grant program creates an opportunity for our small-business community to plan, pivot and execute strategies for continued growth,” said Crystal Keener, Director for Downtown North Wilkesboro Partnership.
