Yadkin Valley Strong is continuing to use the more than $78,000 it has received in donations to assist area families and organizations that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Yadkin Valley Strong has helped at least 25 families, the Elkin Tribune reported on May 27, in addition to the assistance the organization continues to provide seven school feeding programs, the Tri-County Christian Crisis Ministry (Tri-C) and Mercy and Truth Ministries.
Since the campaign started, $37,000 has been awarded, the Elkin Tribune reported, and supplies' grants as much as $400 for individuals and families who lost income due to coronavirus. Each household can receive $250 with three household members being able to qualify for an additional $50 each.
Those with an "adult family income" of less than $60,000 who live in Elkin, Jonesville, State Road, Ronda, Thurmond, Traphill or Mountain Park are eligible to apply for assistance. For more information visit yadkinvalleystrong.com or call 336-526-1111.
