Joy Gilman has been appointed as the new Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) at Northern Regional Hospital. This decision is part of the hospital’s ongoing succession plan, aiming to develop leadership from within its ranks.
Gilman brings more than three decades of nursing experience, including 25 years in various leadership positions. Her background covers areas such as Women’s Health, Pediatrics, Medical/Surgical, Orthopedics, and Surgical Services. For the past five years, she has worked at Northern Regional Hospital and most recently held the position of Senior Director of Nursing.
She will succeed Robin H. Hodgin, who has served as CNO for 25 years. Hodgin played a key role in advancing nursing standards and patient care at the hospital and will continue serving as Interim President and CEO.
“Known for her transformational leadership style and unwavering transparency, Joy consistently prioritizes the well-being of our hospital, our team, and, above all, our patients,” said Robin H. Hodgin, Interim President and CEO. “She inspires those around her to strive for excellence and leads with integrity, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to doing what is right.”
Gilman commented on her new role: “It is an honor to serve alongside such a dedicated team of caregivers. I look forward to advancing our culture of excellence and continuing to put patients and families at the center of everything we do.”
Gilman holds a master’s degree in nursing administration from Liberty University earned in July 2022. She also holds certification as a nursing leader through the American Organization for Nursing Leadership.
