The City of Mount Airy announced on April 14 that it is seeking proposals from qualified consultant firms to conduct an inundation study and prepare a supporting technical report for the Allred Mill Reservoir.

This request is important as it aims to ensure the safety and effective management of the reservoir by mapping potential inundation areas, which can help inform emergency planning and infrastructure decisions.

According to the announcement, interested firms should have relevant experience in similar engineering projects. Proposals must be submitted to the City of Mount Airy Public Works Department at 440 East Pine Street, Mount Airy, North Carolina, by Wednesday, May 13 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The city intends to award the contract immediately after reviewing submissions. Once awarded, the selected firm will be required to complete its work within 90 calendar days.

Levi Hiatt, City Engineer for Mount Airy, is listed as the contact person for questions regarding this Request for Proposals (RFP). Hiatt can be reached at (336) 786-3593 or via email at lhiatt@mountairy.org. A copy of the RFP is available online at www.mountairy.org.

The city specifies that only firms with appropriate qualifications and background should submit proposals in response to this opportunity.
