Hugh Chatham Health has been acknowledged as one of America’s Best Hospitals by the Women’s Choice Award, a distinction that highlights top healthcare providers in the nation. The recognition was given for excellence in Emergency Care and Stroke Care.

The Women’s Choice Award identifies leading healthcare institutions based on criteria such as patient satisfaction, clinical excellence, relevant accreditations, and women’s preferences regarding treatment and hospital experience.

Hugh Chatham Health received the Best Hospital for Emergency Care Award due to its high patient recommendation rate and consistent performance ranking within the top 25-50 percent of hospitals reporting emergency department data to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The evaluation considers factors like time spent in the ER, time to admission, percentage of patients leaving before being seen, timely care for stroke symptoms, and adherence to quality bundled care for sepsis. Hugh Chatham Health ranks in the top 6% nationwide for Emergency Care.

For Stroke Care, Hugh Chatham Health earned recognition by meeting high standards set by the Joint Commission’s Stroke Center Certification. Requirements include scoring in the top 80% of hospitals for providing Head CT scan results within 45 minutes and maintaining a patient recommendation score at or above the national average. The hospital is recognized among the top 10% nationwide for Stroke Care.

Delia Passi, Founder and CEO of the Women’s Choice Award, stated that Hugh Chatham Health delivers care that matters most to women who make over 90% of healthcare decisions. “Being treated with proper care impacts your health,” she said. “By letting women know which hospitals are among the best, we help them make better decisions.”

Dr. Jonathan Snyder, Chief Medical Officer at Hugh Chatham Health, expressed pride in their mission to provide high-quality care. He noted that these awards reflect their team’s dedication and expertise in offering compassionate care when needed most.

Passi further emphasized that recommendations are crucial when selecting a hospital or care center. By informing women about top hospitals in their area, they can reduce risk through informed choices.
