Chris Knopf: Crews Will Continue to Work on Restoring Power Outages

Update, as of 11 pm: crews will continue to work on restoring power outages caused by high winds today. At this time, about 500 members remain without power. Thank you for your continued patience as the crews work as safely and quickly as possible. 

Update, as of 9:50 pm: Crews are working to remove a tree from the transmission line feeding Lomax substation so they can restore power. They also continue working on other outages in the service area. Thank you for your patience.

As of 8 pm, crews are continuing to respond to numerous outages across Surry-Yadkin Electric Membership Corporation’s five-County service area. In total, over 5,100 members are affected by outages. The largest outage at this time is at the Lomax substation where crews are on site assessing the outage so repairs can be made. Crews will continue to work until outages are restored.
