YADKINVILLE — A Hamptonville man is behind bars after he allegedly stole firearms from a family member and sold them at

an Elkin pawn shop.

Jason Scott Brown, 37, allegedly stole three firearms from a relative’s house while the family was out of town. Detectives with the Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office arrested Brown on Wednesday. The incident allegedly occurred on Dec. 10.

Brown is charged with three counts of larceny of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He is in the Yadkin County Jail with a secured bond set at $15,000.
